Hui Huang (黄惠)
Distinguished Professor, Founding Director of the Visual Computing Research Center. She received her PhD degree in Applied Math from the University of British Columbia (UBC) in 2008 and another PhD degree in Computational Math from Wuhan University (WHU) in 2006. Her research interests are in Computer Graphics and Scientific Computing, focusing on Point-based Modeling, Geometric Analysis, 3D Acquisition and Creation. She is currently an Associate Editor-in-Chief of The Visual Computer (TVCJ) and is on the editorial board of Computer Graphics Forum (CGF) and Frontiers of Computer Science (FCS). She has served on the program committees of major computer graphics conferences including SIGGRAPH Asia, EG, SGP, PG, GMP, SMI and CAD/Graphics. She is invited to be SIGGRAPH ASIA 2017 Technical Briefs and Posters Chair, in addition to SIGGRAPH ASIA 2016 Workshops Chair and SIGGRAPH ASIA 2014 Community Liaison Chair. She is the recipient of 2015 NSFC Excellent Young Scientist Grant, 2015 Guangdong Technological Innovation Leading Talent Award, 2015 CAS Youth Innovation Promotion Association Excellent Member Award, 2014 Guangdong Outstanding Graduate Advisor Award, 2013 CAS International Cooperation Award for Young Scientists, 2012 CAS Lujiaxi Young Talent Award, and 2011 Shenzhen Peacock Talent Award. She is also selected to be a Distinguished Member of CCF and Senior Member of ACM.
VCC Distinguished Adjunct Professor, Professor of the Department of Computer Science at Tel-Aviv University (Israel). He received his M.Sc. in Computer Science (1986) from Ben-Gurion University, and PhD degree (1991) from the Department of Computer Science at State University of New York at Stony Brook. His current research interests include shape modeling, surface reconstruction, and image synthesis. He has published over 200 papers on outstanding international journals and conferences, including 78 on the very prestigious conference - SIGGRAPH. He is the recipient of the 2005 Eurographics Outstanding Technical Contributions Award.
Assistant Professor. She received her Ph.D. degree in Applied Math from Department of Mathematics at Zhejiang University and joined VCC in 2015. From Oct. 2012 to Oct. 2014, she visited the GrUVi Lab of Simon Fraser University. Her current research interests are in the areas of computer graphics, especially in shape analysis, geometry processing and fabrication. She has published 9 papers in leading journals and major conferences, e.g., ACM Transactions on Graphics (SIGGRAPH & SIGGRAPH Asia) and Computer Graphics Forum (SGP). She is the recipient of 2015 Shenzhen Peacock Talent Award.
Assistant Professor. He received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2015 and was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at HKUST from Mar. 2015 to Mar. 2016. His primary research lies in Human Computer Interaction and Computer Graphics. His work has been published at the top journals and conferences in HCI and Computer Graphics, e.g., ACM Transactions on Graphics (SIGGRAPH Asia), ACM CHI, ACM UIST, and IEEE TVCG.
Assistant Professor. She received her Ph.D. Degree from SIAT in 2015, co-supervised by Hui Huang and Baoquan Chen. Her main research interests are 3D urban modeling and 4D reconstruction. She has published a few papers in the leading computer graphic journals and conferences, such as ACM TOG, SIGGRAPH, EUROGRAPHICS, CGF and ICCV.
Assistant Professor. He received his Ph.D. degree at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, affiliated with Computer Science and Engineering Department. His research interests include computer vision and machine learning. He is currently working on deep learning to solve object/scene classification and segmentation. He has published 5 papers in top journals and conferences, e.g., IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence (TPAMI) and IEEE Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR).
She joined the VCC group as a research associate in March of 2017. Before joining SZU, she worked with Prof. Goldie Nejat and Prof. Beno Benhabib as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Toronto, Canada. She received her Ph.D. degree from the University of Saskatchewan in Canada, under the supervision of Prof. Wenjun Chris Zhang.
Postdoctoral Researcher. He received his Ph.D. degree from University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2016. His primary research lies in Computer Graphics, including point cloud based 3D modeling, scene understanding, tree modeling. His work has been published at the top journals and conferences in Computer Graphics, e.g., ACM SIGGRAPH(Asia),IEEE TVCG.
Postdoctoral Researcher. He received his Ph.D. degree from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2016. His primary research lies in Computer Graphics, including mesh segmentation and ocean simulation.
He recieved his Doctor degree from the University of Groningen, the Netherlands. His research interest include skeleton-based shape processing and treemapping.
Graphic Design Engineer. He received his Bachelor's degree from QingDao University in 2008. Now he is responsible for designing fine art and providing technical support for 3D modeling.His interests include comics and 3D computer animation.
Center Assistant. She recieved her Bachelor's degree in Chinese Language and Literature from Xi'an Polytechnic University in 2010. Her primary duty is assisting the VCC director to handle technology transfer affairs.
Admin Assistant. She receieved her Bachelor's degree in Journalism of Broadcast and Television from Yili Normal University in 2013. Her primary duty is assisting the VCC director to handle personnel and financial affairs.
Project Assistant. She received her Master degree in Educational Technology from Shenzhen University in 2011. Her primary duty is assisting the VCC director to handle project application and management affairs.
