I obtained my Applied Math Ph.D. degree under the supervision of Prof. Uri Ascher in December 2008 from the Mathematics Department of the University of British Columbia. Before it I have been working with Prof. Pusheng Fei at Wuhan University and from there obtained my Computational Math Ph.D. degree in June 2006. Since January 2009, I worked with Prof. Eldad Haber on inverse problems as a postdoctoral research fellow at UBC until joined SIAT at Shenzhen in November 2010. From 2016, I start to found a new VCC at Shenzhen University. 

My research interests are in Computer Graphics and Scientific Computing, focusing on Point-based Modeling, Geometric Analysis, 3D Acquisition and Creation. I have published dozens of papers in top international journals and conferences. I am currently a Senior Member of ACM, a Distinguished Member of CCF, an Associate Editor-in-Chief of The Visual Computer (TVCJ) and is on the editorial board of Computer Graphics Forum (CGF) and Frontiers of Computer Science (FCS). I have also served on the program committees of major computer graphics conferences, including SIGGRAPH Asia, EG, SGP, PG, GMP and SMI. I am invited to be SIGGRAPH ASIA 2017 Technical Briefs and Posters Chair, in addition to be SIGGRAPH ASIA 2016 Workshops Chair and SIGGRAPH ASIA 2014 Community Liaison Chair. I have received NSFC Excellent Young Scientist grant and Guangdong Technological Innovation Leading Talent award in 2015, and also the recipient of 2014 Guangdong Outstanding Graduate Advisor Award, 2013 CAS International Cooperation Award for Young Scientists, 2012 CAS Lujiaxi Young Talent Award and 2011 Shenzhen Peacock Talent Award.

2013/04/28  The API and datasets in our skeleton paper are now available for downloading. The consolidated source codes will be released soon.
2013/04/19  I received a Peacock Grant (1M) from SZ to develop 3D modeling techniques based on low-cost portable scanners.
